The Street Play workshop began at 9:30am that was organized by Dr. Joan in the Multipurpose Hall. The resource person that conducted the workshop was Mr. Jagdish Sansare along with Ms. Madhavi Pawar and Ms. Priyanka Jyogdanda. Sir Jagdish lead us through the entire program. He first began with explaining us what a street play is all about and the difference between a street play and a skit. He then told us to stand in a straight line with a partner. We then played the Mirror game. It was fun to mimic your partner. Through this we understood how acting plays a very important role in street plays. He taught us how eye contact is also very important. He made few students to mimic a beggar and a poor woman.
He made us realize that it is necessary to feel free and not feel shy while enacting a street play. He demonstrated how is necessary to be audible and loud while enacting the street play as it should attract the attention of the public. Lastly, the second-year students were formed into 5 groups and were told to enact street plays. All the group tried their level best and while they were enacting Sir Jagdish guided us on the mistakes the students were making. It was a very informative session. All the students were happy as they got to learn something new, everyone in the hall enjoyed themselves because Sir Jagdish had an amazing sense of humor. The workshop ended with an amazing song sang by Ms. Madhavi. She indeed has been blessed with an amazing voice.
