St. Teresa’s Institute of Education holds such a distinguished place on the educational landscape, having completed 5o golden years of committed service towards the noble cause of Women’s Education. Dedicated to shaping and moulding young professionals into confident, dynamic and multi-talented educators, the institution stays committed to its goal of ‘Excellence in Education’. The college consistently endeavours to ensure that student-teachers trained within its portals evolve to be agents of change. Education in this temple of learning transcends the boundaries of the classroom, by extending the teaching-learning process to field-based activities and experiential learning so as to achieve the holistic development of head, hand and heart. In keeping with the Teresian ideals and doctrines of its Patron Saint Teresa of Avila, a renowned and much revered Doctor of the Church, S.T.I.E as it is lovingly known, imparts an education that is firmly rooted in strong Christian ideals, ensuring that learning takes on a value-added dimension. The curricular and co-curricular activities are based on different models of curriculum transaction designed to provide a sound pedagogical base and logical framework for their planning and execution.

Young aspiring teachers entering the portals of this institution are provided with an array of opportunities to grow and glow brighter in their teaching vocation emerging into the best version of themselves. No stone is left unturned to help the trainees hone a repertoire of skills to prepare them to meet the challenges of 21 st century education. The array of Certificate courses introduced by the college has certainly contributed to curriculum enrichment in keeping with the needs of the times ensuring that the students are technologically adept, linguistically proficient, skill empowered and pedagogically efficient.

The numerous outreach activities have served to sensitise our teacher trainees to their clarion call of serving the marginalised sections of society going beyond the call of duty. The laudable green escapades launched by the college over the past few years help it to glow green making it an emerald in the Mumbai Metropolitan region. The accolades earned by the Institution for its outstanding green endeavours give it the distinguished green edge that it enjoys today.
