Ventel Activity 6: Pickle Making

On Wednesday, 20th January, 2021, St. Teresa’s Institute of education conducted its sixth Ventel activity. The name of the activity was Sweet spicy and sweet pickle. So we have chosen Mango pickle which is easily available to us. The activity was conducted on an online platform by Litty Joseph, Jeslin Nadar and Renica Patil.

The Activity focused on how to make a mango pickle . A pickle is known as achar, aachar, athanu loncha, is a pickled food, native to the Indian subcontinent, made from a variety of vegetables and fruits, preserved in brine, vinegar, or edible oils along with various Indian spices.

This was explained and demonstrated using a PowerPoint presentation and Videos. The Video showed how to make Mango Pickle.Where as Presentation focused on uses of pickle and the steps for preparing the mango pickle and listing out the ingredients.

Since the activity was conducted during the lockdown period, the students were given various options to make pickle out of lemon, Gooseberry, and vegetables that are available at home.

The presentation and videos were shared with the class for reference and to help them to make pickles.Overall it was an interesting and learning activity .
