Topic/Subject of the Activity Peace Rally - Let's 'Raise Our Voice for No Noise'... using Art, Craft, Drama, Literature & Dance.
Objectives for conducting Activity
  • To prepare students to enact a street play on noise pollution that arises out of indiscriminate honking on the streets.
  • To sensitize the public regarding reducing noise in an entertaining way using a flash-mob dance. (environmental messages).
  • To prepare charts, props, posters and symbols using environmentally safe material (no thermacole and plastic).
  • To engage students to learn about the side effects of noise pollution eg. high Blood Pressure(BP), Stress , Diabetes, hearing impairment
  • To document the event with photographs and videos.
  • To promote concern for the community we live in.

Outcome
  • The rally gave us an opportunity to network with our host institution St. Teresa's Institute of Education and form bonds to strengthen our work relationship.
  • This initiative was a novel idea creatively executed.
  • It engaged our students in gathering data relevant to the topic on Noise pollution.
  • It was an exercise for our teachers in engaging students through experiential learning.
  • The students were joyful and participated whole heartedly.
  • The students contributed with ideas for the event.
  • The people on the road took up well to what we had to showcase.
  • It has sown seeds of awareness among our students about the hazards of noise.
