As a part of Vocational Education Nai Talim Experiential Learning (VENTEL) Action Plan, on Thursday, 25 February 2021, the 10th Ventel Activity was conducted virtually by Ms Humera Khan, Ms Melita Chettiar and Ms Sayma Kazi for the student teachers of St Teresa's Institute of Education.
As a group we decided to showcase our culinary skills by demonstrating the class to make a homemade pizza. Call it a midnight snack or a favorite meal, pizza is something which is a best suit for every time. In India it does have a huge audience base. And, in the battle of various pizza joints, there is one place that still succeeds to make the world’s best pizza, and that is our kitchen. No matter how cheesy this sounds, but there can be no pizza better than the one we make at home!
The reason behind opting for a homemade pizza was that the speed in which dynamics of the food industry is innovating there is no time soon when Indians are going to get bored from pizza. Starting a homemade pizza business can prove to be a profitable business venture, and can yield a high profit margin for any entrepreneur who is serious about the business. With pizza, you get to be creative as well as learn how to cook.
Pizza as a sample, a PowerPoint presentation with the detailed recipe and a video was prepared by the group members well in advance. Instead of being monotonous, Ms Humera started the session in a fun way by asking the student teachers to solve a riddle. Following which she explained the process of making the pizza. It included the ingredients, procedure and method of cooking. Since most of the indian kitchens lack the traditional oven our recipe filled a gap as the pizza was made with a pan on a cooktop. A video was shown in order to get a better clarity. Thereafter, Ms Melita shared with all on how one can become an enterpreneur with a pizza business. The presentation and video was shared with the class for reference.
Ms Humera concluded by thanking the class for joining the session.
