The event started with a beautiful assembly at 9am. Sir Maxwell Lopes joined us for an NDLI event. He played a beautiful Bhajan and narrated the message of Gandhiji’s life very beautifully. He also enlightened the students about Gandhiji’s life before he became the father of the nation. After his enriching speech, Manisha ma’am inaugurated the VENTEL Cell at STIE. She focused on how learning life skills are important for being self-reliant. She also spoke about application of Gandhian principles in life of an educator. Her speech was followed by a great event filled with bhajans and songs by or for Gandiji. Beautiful anecdotes were performed by the students. An interesting quiz on Gandhiji’s life was conducted. Speeches and poems were recited. It was a creative celebration of his 152nd Birth anniversary at STIE.

She started with a sanskrit shlok and asked one of us to at least try to read it and then she explained to us the whole meaning of that shlok. The workshop was about how to cope with all the stress that we face in day to day lives. She suggested we should inculcate the skills like problem solving, critical thinking, decision making etc.

Moving further she showed us how there are different kinds of people with different mindsets and the ability to handle stress in a positive and a negative way with the help of two bottles, one filled with coca -cola and the other one with water. After that we had a laughter therapy session, Ma'am asked all of us along with our Professor Dr. Cerena D’cuhna to participate in the laughter therapy. She suggested some books about positive thoughts and approaches towards life. Those were "Power of your subconscious mind "by Dr. Joseph Murphy and another one was by Gaur Gopal Das.

The last activity focused on the skills of creativity, Problem solving and analytical thinking. We had to make different ornaments or articles out of newspapers and everyone has to participate in that and so everyone made some of the other thing out of the newspaper and Ms. Sarla Lobo was very happy by looking at our creative minds .With this ma'am shared certain positive quotes related to teaching and life and with that the event came to an end. At the end one of our classmate Ruth D'Mello gave the vote of thanks. The session ended at 4.00 pm.
