A session on Fascinating History of Indian Coins was organized by the management of St. Teresa’s Institute of Education on 20th November 2021 for the students of S.Y.B.ED from 9.30 – 10:30 am.The coordinator for this session was Ma’am Dr. Cinderella D’mello and the resource person was Mr. Pascal Lopes a historian and a coin researcher.

The session began with Ms. Neomi Nigrel introducing the resource person for the day. Thereafter, sir began his session by saying that collecting coins is a great hobby as it helps in relieving stress. He further mentioned the career options by studying about coins in depth. He then talked about the advantages and disadvantages of the barter system followed by the existence of coins from then. Then he helped us to understand the symbols of different rulers minted on coins.

In the end, he showed us his priceless collection of coins which was fascinating to see. He even answered the doubts and shared the landmarks from where he outsource the coins. It was indeed an interactive and informative session. The session concluded with vote of thanks by Ms. Ramona Fernandes.
